.welcome.

.meet me and my little family.

.welcome.

I'm Laura, the author and photographer of j+w blog. I started this little blog when we made our cross-country move as a place to share what is going on in my life, my family's life, my craft room, and my kitchen. It is fun, and a place where I am just me.

Thank you for joining me here in my own little corner of the web.

.who I am.

I grew up in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. We are currently living in the Deep South courtesy of the military where culture shock has been our faithful companion.

I am a wife, mama of three, and saved by grace.

.meet my family.

B is my husband. He was my high school sweetheart and we have now been married almost seven years. He is an officer in the United States Marine Corps and is currently in flight school learning how to fly helicopters. He loves flying, watching Top Gear, and has terrible timing when telling jokes.

J is the little boy who first made me a mama. He loves imagining things and has a servant's heart. He loves race cars, helicopters, and not wearing clothes.

W is the only one in our family who gets to be a big brother and a little brother. And he knows it! This kid has a great sense of humor and a hatred of "smiling for the camera."

A is my sweet baby girl. She is the happiest, most feminine little thing I've ever met. She brings a calmness and gentleness that our family that is so special. Although we do have our suspicions that she might be a redhead.

.just the ordinary made extraordinary.

Most of the time, it's just the day-to-day that I share. But, really, these are the best days of my life.

"After all," Anne had said to Marilla once, "I believe the nicest and sweetest days are not those on which anything very splendid or wonderful or exciting happens but just those that bring simple little pleasures, following one another softly, like pearls slipping off a string."

Lucy Maud Montgomery
