.home.

You haven't seen a tree until you've seen its shadow from the sky.

Amelia Earhart

A few weeks ago, my three small children and I spent 7 hours flying and 12 total hours traveling to leave the East Coast and return home for an extended visit to the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

I'm not particularly fond of flying. It's exhausting (just look at the pictures!) and a bit nerve-wracking...but being married to a pilot, I'm beginning to warm up to this amazing mode of transportation.

I can't help but love the moment during descent when things begin to take shape. What looks one-dimensional from so high up begins to take form. Hills and buildings seem to spring up out of the flat ground. I can recognize specific places

I know I'm home.

.family sunday.

B - you went shoe shopping without me, and got two pairs of shoes exactly like what you already own, you goof! At least you're consistent!

J - every day this week you have been asking me to go back to Sunday School. Well, today was the day to go back and you didn't want to leave. But I cherished your reenactment of Joshua and the walls of Jericho.

W - you've been zipping around on the new trike grandpa got you all week. It is definitely "your thing"

A - lately, as soon as your Jammies come off, sometimes even before you're dressed, you run to get your shoes and put them on. You're never fully dressed without shoes!

.family sunday.

B - First two flights in the 53 this week and you nailed them! You are an amazing helo pilot, Love, and I am so proud of you!

J - You've been helping me clean to get ready to go to your Granoa's. You are so stinking excited!

W - As much as you love the water, your fingers have been shriveling; you call it "blueberry fingers".

A - You love being fancy. You found where I've been keeping your play bracelets and have been going to your room and getting them out all week.
